Just about packed

It's Tuesday and we are just about packed. What a relief. I'm always glad when I am packed and feel somewhat organized. Still some last minute things but the majority is done. We have 5 large bags going and 2 carry on. Most of it is staying there. We are bringing a portable ultrasound, a bunch of lab supplies, lots of bandages, bandaids, gauze, sunglasses , antibiotic cream, and of course tootsie rolls for the kids. We want to again thank everyone who contributed. Please continue to pray for us especially as we finalize our packing and household things here that need to be completed.

Getting prepared to go

For several months now, as we prepare to leave and time gets closer, we find we are under tremendous spiritual warfare. If you talk to those who have know us for several years they can atest to the fact that this is nothing new as it happens every year before we go. Each year is different and the enemy tries new things to discourage us from going. This year has been no exception, however,it seems to not let up and has been much more intense. Maybe because we are talking along others with us this time, but whatever the reason, we need your prayers more than ever as we prepare  physically, mentally, and emotionally. I (Cindy) have been under physical attack and will be going in a boot up to my knee and with much pain in several areas of my body. Some have asked how I will do it and my answer is with God's help. There is no other way. I completely  rely on Him and the prayers of His people for my strength, knowing fully this is His desire for me. He is faithful and every year we are able to accomplish what He has set before us. We can only do this through the help of the Holy Spirit and with your prayers. I ask that you would pray for us starting now, before we even go.. Please pray for God's protection to surround us as well as wisdom to know what to pack and to use our time wisely. Pray for rest and healing for Cindy's body and for Karl that he is able to finnish all he needs to do at work before we go. We look forward to sharing with you what God has planned for us to do in Honduras.

March 20, 2016 Update

Cindy and I are very excited about our trip to Honduras, later this summer. This will be our thirteenth year, of following Gods calling, to serve in the second poorest country of the Western Hemisphere . This year is especially exciting, as we're going with a couple, that we've been friends with, for many years. Together we will experience Gods grace and beauty, in this impoverished country.

Honduras has many attributes that are worth exploring. Tall majestic mountains that cover nearly 70% of the country's landscape, multitudes of beautiful white sandy beaches. Wildlife abundant, everywhere you look.

Despite the poverty, Honduras has wonderful people, friendly, just as curious of us, as we are of them. The children, of which are my personal favorite, just break your heart. They're  adorable, innocent, needy, and loving. This country's people have a genuine quality like no other.

God has called us, to serve His children, in Honduras . My wife and I work at Hospital Loma de Luz, which means, Light on the Hill. At the hospital, we serve in many capacities. My field of expertise in the states, is X-ray equipment repair. God has taken this work skill, and used it to further his kingdom at the hospital
