Clinic day
Today we stopped to have the mechanic work on our car but he was out of town most of the day so he will need to look at it tomorrow. We went on to the clinic to work. Karl worked put new equipment together with a man down from the states named Glenn.I worked in the pharmacy again counting out pills. Tomorrow the car goes back to the mechanic and hopefully will be fixed at least for this trip! Again we wish to thank all who have donated towards our car or for our mission work. We are grateful to be an obedient servant in the way God has called us.
Up the CONJUGAL River
Yesterday we went up the Conjugal river with Sue, Aubrey, Dr.Al and his wife Val to give out clothing and stuffed animals. On our first stop we met a local man Darwin, his wife Eileen, and his sister Anna who offered to ride with us up the dirt road and show us where the needy people would be. We stopped the car, spread out two blue tarps an the clothing and shoes on them. Many people came running from the village to greet us and see what we had. We tried to size up the items with the person and ask them if they liked it. We handed out stuffed animals to the kids. We prayed with some of the groups. On the way home Aubrey and Sue treated everyone for lunch at the beautiful pico bonito. We saw amazing flowers, a waterfall and many hummingbirds there. It was a wonderful day.
Only in Honduras!
Karl went to town to buy a new muffler for the car today. After 4 places he couldn’t find one…our car is only 25 years old! He called our friend as he knew of a place where they would make one for us! He dropped the car there and went to the mall to wait two hours until it is done. When he went back the guy said he needed another two hours to finish it.
The clothing handout scheduled for tomorrow was canceled due to the person who was telling us where to go and going with us is sick. It will be rescheduled. Lots of people are very sick here. My neighbor who had gone to the hospital last week is still very weak. My asthma has kicked in two days ago but mostly at night so I have been able to work. Last nIght it was pretty bad but today not too bad. Prayers appreciated that the asthma will subside, we won’t get this flu or Covid that is going around and that our friends and neighbors who are sick will soon feel better.
